woo!

So, I've been invited to audition for something that might prove to be fun. Can anyone suggest a suitable monologue?

More details when/if they occur.

I need to know what basic 'flavour' monologue you're looking for, first.

Well, the audition's for an audio-drama series. I'd want something short, but with range.

Other than that, I'm not quite sure.

well, the first thing that comes to mind is some of the protagonists’s stuff from Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs”. i haven’t found it online, but i’ll see if i can dig it up once i get home.

When is this audition? I can ask some of my theatre friends if you have a couple of days.

I will recommend a few:

-El Gallo's "There is a curious paradox" from "The Fantasticks" (which is also nicely short)
-Ma Abner's "I has spoken!" from "Lil' Abner" (if you want to be cute and use a womna's monologoue -- why not?)
-Francisco d'Anconia's "So you think money is the root of all evil?" from Atlas Shrugged (more of a serious piece)
-Henry Drummond's "The individual human mind" from "Inherit the Wind" (nice for a good dramatic flare)

Huzzah!
