Does the fact that the ACLU is supporting Rush Limbaugh in his court case strike anyone else as wonderfully ironic?

With all due respect, Teresa, they're more consistently and selectively about liberalism than liberty. The ACLU has generally been very good on our 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th amendment rights. Protecting Mr. Limbaugh's medical records falls in there. However, the ACLU is rather poor on 2nd, 9th and 10th amendment rights.

Were they consistent in supporting the entire Bill of Rights, I (a pretty radical libertarian) would join and support them.

Okay, I should have said in theory, not in practice. I guess in practice they sometimes surprise me with the more 'conservative' causes, but I maintain that they *should* be about liberty. Hey, I've had a houseful of LJ and #C folk this weekend, if I'm not thinking or typing clearly, blame them. :-)

Oh, well, if #C folks are anything like alt.callahans folks, then I'm surprised you didn't attack the ACLU from the left! :-)

I do remember reading about Pythonacon, and it sounded like great fun. Don't be surprised if we try to crash some year. :-)

That's such a cute picture (Gabriel, I assume?) in the icon!
