Boston people (or people who've visited Boston...)

Please tell me your impressions of the South End.

Whether or not you've lived there, have visited there, or have only read about it in the papers, please share your thoughts!

The South End seems to be the new up-and-coming neighborhood. Lots of folk I know from work have moved there recently. However, as someone else metioned, there's really no local shul. There's davening at Charlesview (I think it's called), but I'm not sure what "flavor" it is (the people I know who go there tend toward the traditional Conservative).

It's pretty and close to stuff, which is good. It's also rumored to be expensive, though.
