On media

This evening I actually sat and watched Fox News for about 45 minutes or so (most of Hannity and Colmes). Politics aside (and Colmes really isn't much more than an ineffective puppet liberal), they condescend to their audience to such a point that it made me feel like they were being insulting.

In more political news, dafydd has made some thought-provoking posts about the goings on in Israel and Lebanon. Dad and I spoke about a lot of what's going on there right now, and we agreed that it really sucks to be an Israeli civillian living anywhere north of Haifa, or a Lebanese civillian living south of Beirut.

(On a more personal note, I've met a fair number of folks from Lebanon or of Lebanese descent [including a classmate], and to a person, they're some of the friendliest people I've come across. it sucks that Syria and (by extension) Iran decided to squat in their country.

When you hear reports about injuries occuring in israel, the media divides them into three categores- light, moderate, and severe. The distinctions are a little different than they'd be in the US media.

Yay, updates!

So, with roomie O gone, I have the entire house to myself for two weeks. It's too quiet.

Thus far, I've swept, swiffered and mopped in the living and dining rooms, and packed up a bunch of magazines for recycling on Wednesday. Tomorrow I might tackle the kitchen.

The job search goes slowly. Today I sent my resume out to two more places, and got "we received your CV and cover letter" e-mails from Children's Hospital and Beth Israel-Deaconess. I'm waiting on my transcript and two references before I can apply to take my state licensing exam.
