When you hear reports about injuries occuring in israel, the media divides them into three categores- light, moderate, and severe. The distinctions are a little different than they'd be in the US media.
Light is actually kind of wide ranging. Anything from minor cuts and bruises to broken limbs or grazes from gunshots are considered "light." Walking wounded, I guess.
Moderate- multiple broken limbs, partial thickness (second degree) burns, some gunshot or penetrating shrapnel wounds are considered "moderate."
Severe- The really gross stuff. Major injuries from explosions, gunshots, amputations, full-thickness (third degree) burns etc. Bleah.
Now y'know.
