I didn't realize 6AM on Sundays actually existed...

I had to take a new route to work today, as my usual bus doesn't run on Sundays. (I'll be working Sundays for the forseeable future, bummer.)

I had the directions from my boss, and I guess I loaded them into my brain's autopilot, because I just started following them without paying attention to my surroundings.

That was when I started beating up on myself.
I've been down for the past day or so, but some of what was going through my head was harsh.
After about 15 minutes of enlightened self-abuse, I looked up and realized that I'd been walking past a cemetary for the past half-mile or so. As soon as I get home, I'm meditating for at least half an hour.

Something seems to be very wrong inside my head, and I'm not dealing well. I need to figure out what it is posthaste

I've been having a lot of sense-memories lately.

For example, when I was cleaning my dresser on Friday, I came across two silk Japanese flags that my grandpa got when he was in WWII. Handling them made me remember the first time I got them.

I've also been getting flashes of other memories. What hugging and/or kissing some people felt like, the way various fabrics and textures feel under my fingertips.

I'm not quite sure what's brought it about, but it's also given me some very tactile dreams, which is rare for me, and very cool.

With the pending Spider-Man movie, I thought I'd share one of my earliest webslinger-related tales.

When I was little, around two or three years old, my uncle was a copyright lawyer who had a contract with Marvel Comics. He'd handle copyrights on their merchandise, and would often get samples, which tended to go to my brother Hyim and me.

Hyim got a Spider-Man sweatjacket, I got an Incredible Hulk one. (at 2.5 years old, I called him the "Credible Hulk," apparently he was a very believeable angry green superthing)

But the Piece de Resistance was probably the Spider-Man doll/action figure I got when I was three. It was basically a Ken doll with a rubber Spidey-mask head, and a removeable Spider-Man costume.

I remember my friend Chaninah and I playing with the Spidey doll, when we came to a horrifying discovery...

Bear in mind, I didn't have any sisters, and Chaninah's sis was too young for Barbie and Ken dolls, so neither of us knew what to expect when Spidey was... disrobed.

Mom still cracks up when she retells me approaching her with a very serious look on my face, asking her "Why Spider-Man no have penis, Mommy?"

Go ahead, laugh, it's good for you. :-)

Sometimes the line between client and staff begins to blur. When that happens, simply reach into your pocket. If you feel the office keys, you're on staff...
