If it consoles you at all, I was called out for a special pat down on the way home from Australia. That treatment has never before happened to me. It felt quite invasive and ... uh ... personal.
Oh, the screening started with an explosive-detecting swabdown of everything I was carrying, and culminated in a surprisingly up-close-and-personal, almost-religion-confirming patdown.
Personally, I wonder how the swabs would have gone if we had spent any time visiting reporteraliza's aunt and uncle's place of work. Y'know, the fireworks distributors...
