I've waited months to share this one...
A brief pre-Aliza's-pregnancy story.

reporteraliza and I relied pretty heavily on the miracles of various types of pee-on-a-stick technology. One Wednesday evening, on my way home from work, I got a text from Aliza, "pick up some pregnancy tests," it read, "we're out."
Easy enough, I thought. Wednesday is comic book day! I'll stop off at the comic shop, pick up my week's subs, then stop off at CVS. This plan worked fairly well until the comic book store, and realized something:
My dad collects comics, and goes to the same store... and he's standing right over there!
I chatted with dad for a bit, we paid for our purchases, and walked up the block. Fortunately, I was able to make my excuses and duck into CVS.
I went to the family planning aisle, hunted up the best option, and headed to the checkout. The cashier, a young guy in his late teens/early twenties, and I had the following conversation:
arib takes his bag and change, and starts putting the bag into his backpack for the walk home
Cashier: Good luck, man.
Me: Thanks, we're feeling hopeful
Cashier: Oh! You're actually trying!
He then turned slightly pink, so I said good bye and headed home.
I suspect most of the other customers he has are usually coming at it from the other side, as it were. :-)

This reminds me of one of my very favorite commercials -- I don't know what brand, but there's a commercial for a pregnancy test has a voiceover solemnly telling you it's "the most sophisticated piece of technology you'll ever pee on."
