At Ben Gurion airport
Jul. 14th, 2009 07:08 amAnyone who complains about the security screenings wrought upon them by the TSA has never gone through security at Ben Gurion.
-Our bags were X-rayed
-We were politely but firmly interviewed ("Do you have family here? Who are they?" "Do you belong to a synagogue back home?" "How often do you come to Israel?")
-We then went through the usual metal detector.
At no point was I asked to remove my belt or shoes, and nobody asked me about any liquids, gels, plasmas or forms of dark matter that I might have secreted about my person or luggage.
I approve.
Furthermore, their wifi is free.
Next stop, Heathrow!
