Another lesson learned today

A lesson I now pass to you:

One day soon, you may enter a convenience store. In that store, you may see Pepsi Summer Mix. Do *not* drink it.
The only way I can describe it is to use a very Jewish reference:

Y'know how many shuls will have kiddush after services, serving some form of snacks and such? Remember how you got bored when you were a kid, and mixed some of every soda in the room into one cup? That's what it tastes like!

gak!

It's called a suicide, and it's a common thing for all kids -- Gentiles too. ;)

I figured, this was really the only context I had for it. :-)

(howdy stranger, how've you been? *grin*)

Yeah, Suicides. We used to do it anytime we ran a snack booth of any kind (we had one in my grade school that all the kids volunteered at, and then the Boosters ran the snack booth at games in junior high and high school). I got out of the habit as an adult, but I still sometimes mix Coke & Dr. Pepper at convenience stores.

When I was in daycare, we used to have contests to see who was willing to drink the drink with the most stuff mixed in. Kids who'd drink the sodas mixed with milk were the bravest.

Um, good, college-y? I finished today. It feels weird. You?

Not too shabby. When I'm not at work I'm apartment-hunting or wedding-planning, but still managing to stay sane. :-)

Congrats on finishing! It'll feel weird for the first month or so.

We used to put sugar in ours to watch them fizz. One of the regulars in my shul is a chemist, and one of the kids wanted to be one (three guesses as to who ;]).

Huzzah!

The Vortex

I used to put salt in my Coke. As I recall, it didn't taste staggeringly horrible, just moderately icky.
