Yeah, you. The American citizen over the age of majority. You've registered to to vote, right? Good. (If not, do it now, before the Presidential race in '08. It's gonna be a messy one, so your voice will be needed.)

Tomorrow's the midterm election. States are voting for senators and congressmen. Some states are voting for governors and mayors, or have referenda up for discussion.

Go out there and vote. I don't care how you vote, just that you do so. Democracy can work, but only if everyone who's able to participate does so.

Seriously, go vote.

As always, this public service announcement has been brought to you by Viagla, the only prescription medication proven to help maintain an election.

Hey you

Actually my take on thsi is the opposite and it's not original. don't vote just because you can. If you haven't taken time to study the candidates and issues being addressed, stay home. The last thing we want is people voting party lines just because they feel some unjustified allegiance to that party.
Be informed! Find our what the people who are running stand for. Don't assume because someone's a democrat or republican that they automatically feel a particular way about an issue.
If you don't take the necessary time to find these things out...Stay home!! We don't want ignorant voters!
And one more thing- try not to vote for people based on one issue. There's too much going on in the world to vote for someone just because of one issue (unless everything else is the same for the two candidates (highly unlikely!)).

Thanks Dad, I agree completely. You *do* need to be completely educated before you vote. Most of the folks that read my blog tend to be the educated sort, so I don't think they needed that kind of prompting... :-)
