Sometime between four and eight PM. I watched the last launch from start to finish, it's the first time I did that since... I don't remember when, sometime in the mid-eighties, after NASA restarted the Shuttle program post-Challenger.

It's funny how some things can make me feel like a small child again. I always used to watch shuttle launches as a child, and went through an "I wanna be an astronaut" stage that never quite went away.

Watching the launch in April made me feel... hopeful, or something.

Still, it's cool to see, and we can get NASA-TV on the cable at home, so I'm gonna try and tune in.

When I was 10, all my classmates were following Christa McAuliffe (whose name I have probably misspelled) and saying how they wanted to be astronauts. When I got back to school on January 30 (I was out sick Jan 28 and 29) no one wanted to be an astronaut anymore, except for me.

I wish I could watch the shuttle launch with you. :) Have you read the passage in Callahan's Key about one?
