Driving stick seemed horribly overwhelming to me in theory. When someone actually taught me last summer, I realized it wasn't all that bad. You have the essentials already, in other words, you know how to drive. Stick is just un-automating some parts of driving :)
I found that reading up on how the clutch assembly worked helped me conceptualize what was happening as I shifted.
Can't drive stick shift at all myself- but biking is both fun and practical. And if I could learn how as a kid (I was a Real klutz, much worse than I am now), you can learn too.
I'll teach you how to drive stick, but you would have to come here because there is no way my car is making it there. Just holler next time you visit your bro in Chicago :)
