I found one homonym error and one spelling error in Half Blood Prince.

I completely understand Scholastic's wishes for security and a prompt publication, but you'd think they'd have their best proofers reading stuff, wouldn't you?

Site-sight is the homonym error I've found. Not (yet?) spotted the spelling error. Heck, I'll volunteer to proofread for them....

I don't want to give away plot or anything, but in Diagon Alley, a character reaches into his pocket, pulls out a tub, and unscrews it's top. I'm pretty sure Rowling meant "tube."

That error is only in the US edition. The UK edition has it correct. Which means, of course, the US editor saw the correct word there, and deliberately changed it to the wrong one...

The Bloomsbury edition has a spelling error in the first paragraph of chapter three - "fug" instead of "fog".

At some point, there's a deep, misty "fug" that I'm pretty sure is supposed to be a fog. **Shrug**
