So, to satisfy my curiousity:

My hand was inside a functioning microwave oven for maybe three seconds.

Is that a significant amount of radiation?

It's not ionizing radiation, and three seconds is barely anything.

How did this happen, BTW? Microwave ovens are usually designed with safety features to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
