Prune hamentashen are very much an acquired taste- something one forgets if one has grown up with them. Other flavors tend to go over better.

Someone posted a wonderful looking recipe for hamentashen in [livejournal.com profile] food_porn recently...some with nutella, apricots...yummy looking. I may try the recipe myself. :-)
