Inquiring minds want to know...

Can Drano or Liquid Plumber be used on PVC pipes?

Generally, yes. In fact, they tend to eat PVC LESS than they eat iron or copper. But, doublecheck the bottles -- they usually say. And they do eat through the pipe a little.

From: http://www.liquid-plumr.com/faq.html

Q. Are Liquid-Plumr® products safe for all pipes?

A. Lab tests confirm that all Liquid-Plumr® products are safe for all household plumbing. However, we do not recommend using drain openers in rubber pipes. The products may damage rubber.
