Far too geeky for my own good...

There are at least five different versions of the Dr. Who theme on my computer.

I don't like the show much, but the music's cool, in an early-electronica kinda way.

You don't like Dr. Who? Not even the 4th Doctor? Bite your tongue, boy. Bite your tongue.

I read the books when I was a wee boy, and like them a lot. I've only seen the show once or twice. Cheesy production values, really. I'd be interested in seeing the new incarnation that the BBC's cooking up.

(heck, maybe I'll watch some of the old ones, it's been a while. I can appreciate cheesy.)

OMG they're so cheesy they're awesome. It's old BBC unspecial effects, but the characters are fabulous, and the stories are so much fun. It's like Kirk-era Star Trek. You get used to ignoring the saltshakers-as-medical-equipment and just enjoy it for the classic scifi it is.

:watches the trailor:

OMG I am so excited for this. Is it going to play in the USA? Because, I need this. I need my Dr. Who crack. I was all, "Feh, who needs a new doctor. The others were enough for me, and my heart belongs to the 4th Doctor, anyway" - and then I heard "I'm the Doctor, by the way - " and the Dr. Who theme, and I melted like butter on a hot day in direct sunlight.

Need.

And, btw? That Shabot comic with the Havdalek? Is the funniest thing ever. I mean it.

I have BBC America on my cable, if the Good Doctor comes to the US, and it's aired on BBC-A, I'll tape it for you.

Happy Hanukkah, or something.

and yes, the Havdalek comic's great.

That trailer?

Probably cost as much as the effects budget for the first dozen seasons or so. :-P
