I'm all for the principle that nobody is exempt from jury duty, but this case raises an interesting conflict of interest: if he thinks a defendant is innocent and all his fellow jurors think the defendant is guilty, he can tell them, "Vote to convict, if that's what you want, but as soon as I'm back in my office I'm going to pardon this guy."
