Ah, the BBC is merrily reporting on a study that claims that their TV news reporting is biased against Palestinians and towards Israelis.

Okay, I'm calling bullshit. Will find facts and post them as they come.

Here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3829967.stm) is the BBC's report on their Web site.

Not being in the UK, I have not seen any of the British TV coverage myself. The book is also not available to me, but a 4-page summary is available here (http://www.gla.ac.uk/departments/sociology/Israel.pdf), which may serve as a starting point I guess. And let's just agree to ignore the blatant typoes ("most holly Muslim sights" almost made me burst a gut). The debate is not in the first instance about which side if any is "right", so much as whether the coverage is "balanced", i.e., whether the positions of both sides are presented equitably. (The subtext I get from reading it is that neither side's position is really presented reasonably—but that's TV news for you.)
