Happy eighteenth birthday to my youngest brother, Daniel. He lived to majority, wonders will never cease. :-)

That being said, local sheva brachot tomorrow. Ugh.

(The week following a Jewish wedding, various family members and friends throw parties for the new couple, during which the seven blessings (translated into hebrew as sheva brachot) said during the wedding ceremony are recited. Tomorrow I'll rant about symbolism-laden wine, and why people are forcing it on me...)

I've had enough segula wine that I probably now pose an acute marital risk to any single people in my immediate vicinity. :-)

Apparently, I'm also the guy that women date immediately before finding the person they marry. Well, I'm two for three, anyway.

Heee. Well, I've got three roommates and three semi-roommates under my belt. My current roommates and I have an ongoing contest to see who's the biggest roommate segula. I'm neck and neck with the current lead.

Of course, now I'm the unmarried older brother, which makes things all the more... fun.

Cases in point:

The first sheva brachot after the benching at the wedding, who's the first person my brother makes a beeline for with the glass? Me. (A really nice Muscato D'Asti, so I didn't mind much.)

Second sheva brachot Monday night, who's the only single person of appropriate age at the dinner? Me. (a near full glass of a verrrrry dry Merlot. bleah.)

Apparently, people think that my being slightly tipsy makes me more marriage-worthy or something. *grin*
