While waiting for an ambulance to arrive for one of our patients, Attending Doc and I were dealing with paperwork. While doing so, AD was talking about planning for his upcoming move to Green Bay. Another co-worker mentioned that her family was thinking of moving to Wisconsin when she was a kid, but discarded the idea because there weren't any "Jews or Democrats" there, and they didn't want to be the only ones.

AD quips that he thought that "you Jews are everywhere, aren't you?"

As soon as he said that, the EMT walked into the office.

Yonah.

The only other Orthodox Jewish EMT in the state, who I guess I could describe as a friendly acquaintance of mine.

Timing is everything.

My parents moved out of Wisconsin when I was eleven, but Madison and Milwaukee areas had decent sized Jewish communities.
No Democrats in Wisconsin!? What the hell are they thinking? I always thought it was one of the more liberal states...

Most current members of their state government are Dems, and the state, especially around Madison, has a reputation for being a hotbed of liberalism.
