I've decided to commit a brief act of book-adultery (as Kim calls it), and have temporarily set aside Tom Wolfe's The Right Stuff to read WIlliam Gibson's Pattern Recognition. Marvelous book, really. Gibson is very good at cultural analysis, and isolates lots of why people feel the way they do when in foreign countries.

I finished "Pattern Recognition" last month. Some of it really annoyed me, but I still finished it. "The Right Stuff" I've read a few times and think is marvelous. Please let me know if you decide to read "Infinite Jest". Then we'll really have something to goggle over!

What annoyed you about the book? (I just finished it at lunch)
