Fifty Questions Time...

1. What's one thing you wish you could do but can't?
As much as I can appreciate Crys' answer, (vbeg) I think the one thing I wish I could do right now is be at peace with myself. I'm not, and the discontent is starting to bug me.

2. What is your ideal marriage location?
Anywhere that could hold lots of my friends, sine I'd want them to be there. Outdoors, maybe.

3. Which musical instrument do you wish you could play?
I'd like to pick up the saxophone again, I think.

4. What's your favorite day of the week, and why?
Probably Shabbos, it's much more laid back, and I don't get enough time to be laid back.

5. Favorite fabric(s)?
Cotton, especially denim and flannel, which is what I tend to wear these days. I like whatever synthetic fabric two of my nicer shirts are made of, but wouldn't wear it every day.

6. Something you love and hate:
Hmm... solitude. I really like having time to myself, so I can recharge. On the other hand, I hate being alone against my will. I've been feeling fairly lonely lately, despite all the socializing I've been doing. The single life, while cheaper than being in a relationship, is a lonely one at times.

7. What kind of bedding do you use?
Standard cotton bedsheets, occasionally flannels, but I've had... issues with flannel sheets in the past. It's a long story.

8. What kind of soap do you use?
Nothing fancy, really. Usually Lever 2000 or Irish Spring.

9. Do you tell your friends about your sex life?
Depends on the friend. Some friends of mine know everything, some know bits and pieces, some know nothing at all. It depends on how close I am with the person, and they want to know, mostly.

10. What's the one language you want to learn?
Arabic, I think.

11. How do you eat an apple?
Any way possible, I love apples.

12. What do you order at a bar?
I rarely go to bars, but the last time I went, on my brother's 21st birthday, I ordered a hard cider.

13. Can you count to 13?
Sure, in several languages.

14. Have you ever pierced your body parts?
I thought about getting an ear pierce and growing my hair long in high school, but it never happened...

15. Do you have tattoos?
Nope, not really interested in getting one. I've had fun with henna tattoos, though. Not sure I'd want to put something permanent on my body like that.

16. Would you ever admit to having done plastic surgery of any kind if confronted?
If I had any, I'd probably fess up to it, I doubt I would though.

17. What's one of the "funnest" things you've ever done?
Hmm... Christmas caroling with Crys and Trey and her friends was lots of fun, actually. Don't tell my Rabbi... :-)

18. Do you drive stick?
I'd like to learn, but I don't know how to right now.

19. What's one trait you hate in a person?
Dishonesty. I can't stand being lied to.

20. What's the one trait you need in a person?
I don't know if there's any one thing I need in a person. A sense of humor's good.

21. What kind of watch(es) do you wear?
After my job this summer, I tend not to wear wristwatches, but I have a really nice Swiss Army watch that needs a battery replacement.

22. Most frivolous recent purchase?
Probably all the books I've been buying lately, along with the various CDs I've gotten at Passim and other concerts. I need to save money until I start getting a paycheck in a few weeks..

23. Do you consider yourself materialistic?
Not per se. WHile I like having nice things, I can do without.

24. What do you cook the best?
People tend to be fond of my lasagna and quiche, both of which I enjoy making.

25. Favorite writing instrument?
Hmm... fine-line pens make my handwriting look better than it actually is, so I'd have to go with those for actual on-paper writing. For the past two years I've been relying on my Palm, though.

26. Do you prefer to stand out or blend in?
A little of each, at their appropriate times, is crucial.

28. Would you ever go out dressed like the opposite sex?
Only once, and only because I lost a bet...

29. What's one car you will never buy?
Hmm... Probably a Hummer or an SUV

30. Have you ever done drugs?
Other than alcohol and caffeine, no. I don't think I've ever abused either of the two I've taken, for that matter. Okay, maybe the caffeine. :-)

31. What kind of books do you like to read?
Is it on paper? I'll read it. I enjoy Sci-Fi, espionage, satire, comedy, and some psych texts.

32. If you won the lottery, what would you do first?
Pay off my loans, get a place to live, make sure my family's comfortable, then give gobs and gobs of cash to charity.

33. Burial or cremation?
Not that I'll really care once I'm dead, but I think I'd rather be buried, the idea of my remains sitting on a mantle, or being scattered somewhere feels weird to me. Not to mention the religious issues with cremation.

34. How many online journals do you read regularly?
Thirty or so.

35. What's one thing you're a sore loser at?
Not sure. I try to be gracious about losing, sometimes I'm not.

36. If you don't like a person, how do you show it?
Depends on how much I dislike them. If it's someone I just don't get along with, I ignore them, if it's someone who I actively hate, I tend to let them know one way or another. I can only think of one person who's ever filled that bill, though.

38. Favorite kind of popcorn?
Kettle corn, definitely.

39. Do you have problems changing clothes in front of friends?
Depends on who. In front of theater friends, or friends who're physically comfortable with it, I'm okay.

40. Do you cry in front of friends?
Not as much, recently. A few months ago, I can remember a few occasions where I did, but lately, when everyone, including myself, expected me to cry, I didn't.

41. What kind of first impression do you think you give to people?
Quiet, thoughtful. I used to think I was funny, but I've had that deflated by a few people recently.

42. What's one thing you like to do alone?
Read.

43. What's the worst thing you ever said to someone?
I can think of one thing I said that was absolutely horrible. I didn't mean it to be hurtful, but it was. I'm still not sure I'll ever be forgiven for it.

44. What's the worst thing anyone ever said to you?
"You're not the same person anymore, I can't be friends with you..."

45. Are you a giver or a taker?
Both when appropriate. I tend to give more, though, IMO.

46. When's the right time to go to the bathroom in front of your significant other?
Never.

47. Favorite communication method?
Face-to-face talking is best.

48. What is one thing you don't leave home without?
keys.

49. How often do you call your mom?
When I was in school, I called her once a week, she called me once or twice.

50. What's the most painful experience you've ever had?
Not sure. Almost falling seventy feet to my death when I was 16 was scary, but not painful. I'm not sure what I could describe as the most painful moment in my life, but I've had a few new candidates lately. Probably the feeling I get when I realize that I've just hurt someone I care about. That's painful.

What does VBEG stand for?

but I've had... issues with flannel sheets in the past. It's a long story.
I know the story! I know the story!

22. Most frivolous recent purchase?

Books & Music aren't frivolous. They're necessities!!! *grin*

48. What is one thing you don't leave home without?
keys.

I know for a fact that's not true. If someone's home, you have sometimes left your keys behind.

And a little more serious ...
I can think of one thing I said that was absolutely horrible. I didn't mean it to be hurtful, but it was. I'm still not sure I'll ever be forgiven for it.
I think you're talking about me, here, but I'm not sure. If you are, I ... it still hurts a little, but I forgave you for it long ago.

If you're not talking about me, I'm just me-centric right now. Sorry. :(

I love you, Ari-bear.

What does VBEG stand for?
Very Big Evil Grin

I know the story! I know the story!
Heh, lots of people know the story, but I don't want to reproduce it on LJ, in case involved parties come across it and get offended. If anyone wants to hear the flannel sheets story, they should ask me...

Oh, they are, but they're expensive necessities, especially when you read as quicly as I do. I'm going through at least one paperback a week.

Good point, maybe I'll change it to celphone... :-)

Yeah, I'm talking about you. I realize you've forgiven me, but sometimes I haven't forgiven myself for it, it was stupid of me.

I love you, too, Crys.
