Happy eighteenth birthday to my youngest brother, Daniel. He lived to majority, wonders will never cease. :-)

That being said, local sheva brachot tomorrow. Ugh.

(The week following a Jewish wedding, various family members and friends throw parties for the new couple, during which the seven blessings (translated into hebrew as sheva brachot) said during the wedding ceremony are recited. Tomorrow I'll rant about symbolism-laden wine, and why people are forcing it on me...)

(more of a writeup later, just wanted to share this now)

Scott= a friend of Hyim's from college

Hyim= Younger brother, giant-boy, groom

Me= our intrepid hero.

(The scene is set, amid much singing and dancing, Hyim has just been escorted away from the badeken (pre-wedding ceremony, the groom sees the bride for the first time in a week, shares a few words with her, then helps her lower her veil, an allusion to the bride switcheroo that happened with Jacob, Rachel and Leah in Genesis).

Scott: So Ari, as the older brother, do you have any advice for your brother on his wedding day?

Ari: (having a brainwave, and a Simpsons flashback) Yes, yes I do! *ahem* Hyim, today is your wedding day. If you ever travel back in time, don't touch anything! The slightest changes you make could have drastic effects on the space/time continuum!

Dani got it, Scott got it, my dad got it.

Hyim, easily the biggest Simpsons fan of all of us, didn't.

Must've had something on his mind, really.
