Spoke to my brother's Boy Scout troop about mental illness. After which I participated in a Review Board for another one of the scouts in the troop.

His first year in scouts was my last, it felt very cyclical.

News Guy: "B-52s have taken off from Britain, which will put them in range of Baghdad in..."

Dad: "Are they gonna sing 'Love Shack'?"

Me and Hyim: "No!!"

Watching the news just isn't the same unless family members or my old roommate Jesse are around. (Though Jesse and I generally would just listen to NPR until we got good and pissed off, after which we'd dance around the room in a lather and cuss at the radio. It was fun, trust me.)

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] hakmadare, apparently my "I'm gonna hit you 'til chemical weapons come out" crack seems to have just held out...

hmm

TV news has been on most of the day today. One of my clients was sitting in the living room watching TV when I stepped in. On the screen was a map of Iraq with various areas circled. He talked with me for a few minutes about what he'd been watching, and asked how close the fighting was to "my country."

*blink*

I haven't ever discussed religion or politics with my clients. How he clued in is beyond me. :-)

According to CBS radio news, US soldiers may have found chemical weapons south of Baghdad.

What's French for "I told you so?"
