I have jury duty on Monday. Wah.

On the other hand, the temp agency's said they'll pay me for the time I miss. Yay.

Jury duty is generally not so bad.
In most cases, you just hang out for a day waiting to be called, and then get dismissed sometime in the afternoon.

Just bring along a good book you've been meaning to read.

I would actually welcome the chance to sit on a jury. I've been seated twice, but once as an alternate and once on a case that got settled during lunch (after jury selection, before trial).

The first trial was a criminal case and the behavior of the people actually on the jury scared the heck out of me. I was disappointed that no one got sick so I lost the opportunity to try to beat some sense into them during delibrations. (You're not supposed to talk about the case until deliberations officially start, but of course they did.)
