Adventures in "what were they thinking?"

The electricity in our entire apartment runs through four 15-amp fuses. I just figured out that one of those fuses, (i.e. 25 percent of our unit's electricity) runs one outlet.

Refrigerator? They actually are often on a dedicated circuit.

No, the fridge is plugged into another outlet that shares a circuit with the kitchen and pantry. It was running when the fuse blew.

How old is the kitchen, and could it have had the refrigerator in that corner when they first built it before someone changed things around N years later?
