I'm skipping both party conventions this year. The blatant rah-rah "patriotism," massaging of the facts and one-true-way-ism is just really bothering me. I'll catch the debates, and run out to vote and watch the returns, but I don't feel a need to participate in the past two weeks' brand of crazy.

You want to watch Clinton's speech. It's fifty minutes of solid policy wonkery with actual checkable numbers -- but is entertaining. Bill is one of the greatest orators of the modern world -- heck, he's in the same league as Cicero.
