Harry Potter and the Opening Weekend of Profits

Aliza and I saw the final Harry Potter film last night. It seems like, along with access to magic, wizards are also blessed with a superhuman level of resistance to damage. Seriously, these guys get zapped, blown up, thrown off of cliffs and set on fire, and all they get for their troubles are rugged looking scrapes and scorchmarks.

Also, I was impressed that all they had to do to "age" the actors for the "nineteen years later" epilogue was add some stubble to the gentlemen and give the women longer hair and grown-up clothes. The pot-belly on Ron was a bit much, though. :-)

Hey, after everything that happened in the first seven movies, they got to be like 8th level by now. Assuming a good Constitution bonus, they'd be running 20-30 hit points. Add some decent saves, and it's easily explained.

When you put it that way, it makes more sense. :-) I'm pretty sure Neville rolled a natural 20 towards the end, there.
