aribSciFi and Ronald D. Moore continue not to disappoint with the latest two installments of BSG: Resistance, viewable in the SciFi Pulse section of Scifi.com.
Moore continues to touch on modern-day tropes and issues in the events of BSG.
In episode two, Jammer, Tigh and an unnamed female resistance member are praying in temple when Tigh announces that he'll be hiding the Resistance's stash of weapons in the temple. Jammer is aghast at the thought of using a holy place for armed uprising, and in the third episode offers a prayer for forgiveness while hiding the weapons.
Tyrol and Jammer discuss Duck's unwillingness to join the resistance. Tyrol, true to his rabblerousing form is pissed off, but Jammer seems a bit more understanding.
Episode three focuses on the previously mentioned arms transfer, and on a bit of connubial bliss between Duck and his wife, Nora. New to the BSG world is a bit of conflict between Duck and Nora. Nora seems to be more religiously minded than Duck, praying to the gods for help having a child. Duck jokes that he's more of a believer in "the gods helping those who help themselves," before pouncing on Nora. It's nice to have a little bit of humor injected into the show, honestly. In the morning, Nora asks Duck to join her at temple, and he declines.
I'm definitely interested in seeing how this plays out. Three out of ten episodes in, and there hasn't been any real action yet. I'm curois to see if they'll have the resistance movement taking any action against the Cylons or their human collaborators.
Things I want to see:
Baltar- What's he been up to? Is he working with the Cylons, or bringing them down from the inside? I could see him going either way, depending on his whims.
Starbuck- Where's Kara in all this? At the end of season two, it seemed like she'd be front-and-center in the resistance movement, but we've yet to see a thing. What's up with the Leoben-clone that turned up at her tent in the finale? Is Anders still kicking? In the season three promos it looks like he kicked his pneumonia pretty quickly. Not sure how believeable that is, unless the Cylons have some wonder-drugs.
Roslin- Is she still minding The Baby? Do the Cylons suspect anything? Is she gonna pop Baltar one? He's got it coming.
I still need some sort of Toaster icon. :-)
