I parallel parked for the first time in years on Thursday!

Thanks to bluepapercup, who gave me some strategies to use. Also, my folks are putting me on their car insurance next week.

I think this means I can upgrade my driving skills status from "absolutely dreadful" to "not quite entirely horrible." :-)

Hooray! Very pleased, indeed. it is a useful skill. the VA DMV didn't require it on the driving test, otherwise i'd not have passed. i didn't learn how until i started dating a guy who lived in Charlottesville, VA. he lived right downtown, so i had to park on the street. i never did more than slightly bump the other car the first few times i did it, and got better with practice. !
