Have I mentioned how much I hate being expected to sacrifice my social life for my job.

Being asked to work overtime is one thing, being expected to work overtime is another.

Sounds like you need to ask some hard questions. Why do they feel able to expect you to do overtime? In economics, they teach that overtime pay should just reward the employee for the loss of the other things which they could have done with that time. Are they paying you enough?
