gnomi and I made it to the town's Memorial Day observance a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I know no vets personally to thank, but they do have my gratitude.

My father-in-law was there, supporting the landings from his destroyer. I miss him.

I used to call my father every year on these special days. Now I just try to thank anyone I can for their service, and all that they sacrificed for us.

My father was in the Pacific. He served on the Valley Forge and the Universe, IIRC.
