Thought that came to me watching the Serenity screening again...

It was funny to see that Mr. Universe was apparently Jewish.

But why'd he have to go and marry a blonde-haired, blue-eyed shiksa-bot? :-)

(also, the actors playing the twins that Mal was working for at the beginning of the film had *very* Jewish sounding names, but they were probably just picked because they were twins with a unique accent.)

I'm suddenly trying to reconcile the contradictory notions that it's a mitzvah to have sex on Shabbos with the prohibitions against turning on machines on chag.

I suppose a shiksa wouldn't be as concerned about the latter.
