Sem-Religious question...
Apr. 14th, 2002 02:08 amWhen I was growing up, every synagogue I visited had at least one, and usually several people we'd refer to as "The Candy Man" or "The Candy Lady." This was a person, usually around grandparent age, who had a large stash of lollypops that he/she'd dispense to all the various and sundry kiddies under five or six or so.
Is this just a Jewish thing, or did this also happen to any of you who grew up going to church/other worship services?
These are the deep questions I ask every day... :)
