Why do newspapers constantly refer to the Al-Aqsa Martys Brigade as a "militant offshoot of Yasser Arafat's Fatah Movement?"

That's like saying that the US Army is a "militant offshoot of the United States Government."

Cuz they're not interested so much in reporting facts as they are making things sound more interesting?

Because if they told the truth, that Al-Aqsa is Arafat's band of terrorists, they'd have to admit he's not a partner for peace or someone with the same standing as a legitimate national leader, and maybe they'd even have to wonder why these guys aren't all in jail somewhere.
