So, 500 years from now, will the SCA re-enact the twentieth century?

FutureBoy: "What're you wearing?"

FutureBoy2: "Oh, I just got back from an SCA event, and haven't had time to change out of my garb. This thing's called a 't-shirt,' and these are called 'cargo pants.'"

FutureBoy: "oooh."

FutureBoy2: "I know, my girlfriend replicated them for me herself. Still, they're not nearly as comfortable as a nice set of brelnaks."

These are the questions I ask myself at work. Fear for me.

I think you'd like Diana Warrior Princess

It's a RPG based on a future television series that looks back at the 20th Century with the same regard to historical accuracy that the producers of "Hercules" and "Xena" gave to the Greeks.

From the other end of the tunnel: I've seen someone at the office here wearing a shirt-and-jumper arrangement obviously based on SCA garb. And it looks reasonably "business garb".

I've often wondered about such stuff. What are the history books going to say about this time period?

I figure this period in history will be written in one of two ways:

1. "Fortunately, everyone got their act together, and kept everything from falling apart."

2. "The early 21st century is noted as being the last calm, stable period before the New Dark Ages began."

"My girlfriend wanted to replicate some authentic 20th-century women's clothing, but if she went out in public wearing them, the mullahs would have her head."
