grr? What part are you grring at? Just start following the news...the statistics are valid, they're being reported every day. Bush wants to cut money for soldiers, their families, and veterans. It's disgusting.

Yeah and they don't make much to begin with. My boss used to live on base and she said alot of soldier's wives end up going on welfare because there isn't any work nearby and they soldier's salary isn't enough to live on. :(

Many soldiers qualify for food stamps and subsidized school lunches for their children. Their pay is never raised enough to meet the yearly increases in cost of living. It's sad.

*sigh* I hear about it too :( My sister's boyfriend is a Marine who's actually slated to leave for Iraq sometime in the next few months, thank god his time in the service is up in a few years and he'll have a chance to pursue a real career, hopefully before they end up married.

Well, I agree with most of it, however, the US cannot just bring the troops home, now that the dealings IRAQ have been started they need to be brought to an adequate conclusion.

(Not that I'll argue that BushCo. is doing anything positive on that score either.)

Very true. Sad, but true. I think the important point is not that we need to bring the troops home, but when they do come home we need to give them the money and services they have earned.

Write your Congressman. Write your Senators. Make damn sure they know that we are aware that Bush is screwing our troops and we will not take it.

Let the Bush campaign know that you will not be voting for him because of his mistreatment of the American servicemembers. Doesn't matter if you vorted for him before, it is a secret ballot. Just let that bastard know he's bleeding support.

The numbers are accurate. This is how Bush and many conservatives "support" our troops. Can't pay them more, we'd have to reduce the tax-cut for the wealthy and we can't do *that*...
