Israel- Day 2 Recap
Jul. 10th, 2009 06:34 amDay 2 was much more low key, since today was the seventeenth of Tamuz, a religious fast day.. We spent most of the day at the hotel, and had a quick tour near the Western Wall in the afternoon. (Admittedly, praying at the wall on the day marking the breaching of the walls following the seige of Jerusalem was pretty powerful.)
After that, we grabbed dinner at Taiku, a Japanese restaurant near the hotel, and did some gift shopping. I'm trying to find a copy of the Hebrew translation of John Scalzi's Old Man's War (aka Milchemet haAdam haZaken), but I haven't had much luck yet.
Day 3 will mostly entail travelling to Aliza's aunt and uncle in Shaarei Tikvah, where we'll be staying for Shabbos.
More as the story develops...
