For those of you who are curious...
Jul. 5th, 2009 04:10 pmAliza's impressions of her trip so far can be found on her blog: http://www.alizalibman.blogspot.com/
I'm gearing up for my side of the trip this coming Tuesday. Thus far, I've:
-Done all the laundry
-Bought the travel sundries I know I'm missing.
-Tracked down the adapter for my laptop.
-Herded all of the rechargeable batteries into one location
-Encrypted the home folders on my laptop, and made sure my security tracking software is up to date.
-Realized that my cable lock is busted and arranged to borrow my sister's
-Tidied most of the apartment
-Registered my trip with the State Department in case I need consular assistance. (Not that I've ever done that before, but I figure it's worth a try once.)
-Picked up Aliza's new sunglasses to bring to her.
-Obtained a few shekels.
-Called the credit card companies to let them know I'll be traveling, and not to block my card once international charges show up.
I still need to:
-Set my out of office messages at work (e-mail and voicemail).
-Take out cash to convert once I arrive.
-Visit the safe deposit box.
-Figure out if I want a money belt, or to just rely on the clothing I own that has hidden pockets.
-Get keys to my dad, who's agreed to take in our mail.
-Actually pack.
-Print out my boarding pass, which becomes available tomorrow morning.
-Pull my passport out of our lockbox.
-Try not to look too closely at my passport photo.
I'll talk more about my trip later.
