Noon Sunday:
Have arrived safely in Manhattan after an awesome ride on the limoliner. (Seriously, if you ever have the opportunity, take it!)
We’re currently sitting in a Starbucks waiting to meet some friends of mine and grab lunch.
I feel like a tourist. Hell, I am a tourist. I’ve got my luggage with me, since we can’t check in to our hotel ‘til 3. I haven’t been back in some time, so I’m just slightly confused enough about locations and it’s had for me to figure out where I am.

Anyways. Lunch, hotel, dinner, then show.

Current mood- caffeinated
Current music- something funky on the Starbucks sound system, punctuated by a mother telling off her tweenaged boy three tables over. Ah, New York. :-)

9:20 AM Monday:

and now, I recap-

Lunch at Café K was nice. Sushi and a mozzarella thing with cauliflower. Aliza and I met up with some friends of mine and their six year-old. We went to the Disney Store (huge and corporate), FAO Schwartz (huge and spendy) and the Apple Store in Times Square (Steve Jobs’ idea of heaven) where I got to play with an iphone for the first time. It seems like a lot of fun, but I can easily wait for a product revision or three and for the price point to come down significantly.

Dinner was at Le Marais, where excellent steaks were had. I’m not sure what else to say beyond “damn good steak.” Also, unlike Kosher restaurants in Boston, it was definitely meant as a place for grown-ups to go for dinner. In Boston, the restaurants are definitely the “family eatery” kind of place.

Then, we went to see Avenue Q. As I mentioned in my voice post, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sara Michelle Gellar were there. They were really stand-offish, though. Foo.
The show itself was amazing. The set was very elaborate, as were the not-muppets. The cast did a wonderful job, and it was surprisingly easy to focus on the puppets and not the puppeteers. Definitely not a show to bring your kids to.

This morning, we’re going to meet some friends for brunch, then chill out for a while before hopping the limoliner back to Boston. (odds are, I’ll post this at that point.)

Yay! Fun weekend!

2:24PM Monday.

Back on the LimoLiner to Boston, am on Madison Ave driving north, just passed E95th.
Home around six or so.
Current mood: tired and content
Current music: passenger chatter
