Every once in a while, weird is good...
Jan. 1st, 2005 06:07 pmI heard this story thirdhand through my dad, who heard it from my brother in Israel. I'll be calling Dani tomorrow to see how much of this is accurate. Still thought it worth sharing.
Dani's dorm counselor has a brother, sister-in-law and baby niece who were vacationing in Sri Lanka when the tsunami hit last week.
His brother was scuba diving when the wave hit, and was completely unharmed.
His sister-in-law was holding the baby when the wave hit. She got knocked unconcious, but is fine, except for some bumps and bruises.
The baby got picked up by the wave, swept three or four kilometers, and came to rest at the feet of the nanny her parents had hired to help take care of her while they were on vacation.
Just thought y'all would like to know.
edit: It was a neighboring family of one of his teachers, not siblings of a dorm counselor
