Where were you when:
1. JFK was assassinated (1963): Not yet born, come back in 15 years.
2. Man first landed on the moon (1969): -9
3. Watergate broke (1972): -6. My grandfather was in the Watergate Hotel when everything broke, though.
4. 3-Mile Island occurred (1979): I was around a year old, so I couldn't really say.
5. John Lennon was assassinated (1980): Two years old. Mom and dad listened to the Beatles a lot when i was a kid, I imagine more of it was played around the house.
6. The Shuttle Challenger exploded (1986): I was at my first Cub Scout meeting, I remember my dad telling me about it when he picked me up from school. He knew about how space-crazy I was, and I imagine it was hard for him to tell me.
7. The Berlin Wall came down (1989): I was eleven, and in fifth grade v. 2.0, I remember talking about it during social studies.
8. 9/11 (2001): On my way to class at YU. I've written about it before.
Did you see the following movies in the theatre (or were at least around)?:
1. Sound of Music (1965): Not born yet.
2. The Godfather (1972): Ditto
3. Star Wars – Episode 4 (1977): No. I've seen all of the others in the theater, though.
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981): Nope. Saw Temple of Doom at a Drive in, though.
5. E.T. (1982): Yes, with my mom. She says I cried.
6. Braveheart (1995): Not in the theatre.
7. Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring (2001): Heck, yeah. With Avi, Reuben and other YCDS folks.
1. What year did you graduate high school? 1997
2. What did you wear to your graduation (under your robe/gown)? Slacks and a shirt.
3. Was your hair long or short? 'bout like usual. Short.
4. What was the first concert you went to (without your parents)? Hm. Mordechai Ben David at Independence Park in Jerusalem. (Or maybe Gan HaPa'amon, I forget the park)
5. Do you still know your high school’s alma mater? Never learned it in school, but I have it at home now. it's to the tune of Ode to Joy.
6. Were your Physical Ed. classes co-ed? In elementary school, yes.
