Apparently, French president Jacques Chirac is attempting to pass a law banning the wearing of conspicuous religious symbols, such as a yarmulke, keffiyeh or hijab.

Apparently, in France, freedom of religion is allowed. Just do it in the privacy of your own homes where nobody can see you, and wash your hands afterwards.

edit: Correction, the ban would only apply to public schools. Still, feh.

Or the lack thereof.

e-mailed both profs about my grades for the semester. Prof. H has been sick with pneumonia for two weeks, and has been unable to work on grading much, but informed me that I "don't have anything to worry about." Prof. R isn't done yet, and I can expect to hear from her next week.
