Apr. 27th, 2003 08:48 amAt around 10PM ET on May 15th, a total lunar eclipse will begin. Lunar eclipses are the kind that are safe to view without pinhole devices, UV filters or mylar sheets, as it's the Earth's shadow falling over the moon, not the moon passing in front of the sun as in a solar eclipse. I ast remember seeing a lunar eclipse walking home from high school during winter of my senior year, that was back in 1997. They're rare, and worth a look.
