Where to start?

Well, Crystal (known in LJ circles as chaiya) finally showed up, with about an hour to spare until Shabbat started. We went to services, where the only siddur (prayer book) I could find was a Hebrew-Russian version. Crys got to sit with Anat (who I'm upset I didn't get a chance to talk to before she returned to London *pout*) while I was crammed in the SRO men's section.

Why is it that the physical plant of my apartment building decided to go to hell on *this* weekend in particular? The stairwell *shudder* had every imaginable attrocity performed upon it, I'm not gonna mention it here, just ask me later...
We were able to play "Guess that smell" in the hallways, too. Ick.

After services, we headed over to my friend Dani's, where we had dinner with her, Peikes, Josh G. (Goofy) and Amanda

Dinner was lots of fun, the chicken was quite good, and the company was even better. After dinner, Crys and I headed back to my place (smell in the hallway: bad gefilte fish or something) where we sat up until late at night talking with my roommate Jesse about such varied things as religion, Messianism, politics, and Crys' childhood.

After this, we all went to sleep.

I'd like to say that the morning was spent in a rousing discussion about faith, prayer and the meaning of life, but to tell the truth, we overslept.

So, on to lunch.

Same people as with dinner the previous evening, plus Jason Caplan, who's one of the more interesting and mellow people I've met since being at YU.

After lunch, Crys gave massage lessons, and I got to serve as instruction dummy. *melt*

card games, including Mao, Egyptian Ratscrew and blackjack filled the rest of the afternoon.
Hanan and Deborah must've been asleep when we knocked, 'cause they didn't answer the door. :-(

After Havdalah, Crys and I went over to Macy's, so she could get an outfit to wear to the restauranr get-together later thaqt evening, as the dress she wanted to bring was left in Somerville. After much running around, trying stuff on, hassling by cashiers and gnashing of teeth, Crys got an oh-so-touchable black turtleneck sweater and a really nice shimmery-blue skirt that looks positively gorgeous on her. :-)

(Yes, I'm a guy. Yes, I'm talking about clothing. got a problem with that? :-) )

We got to the restaurant fashionably late (since we wre buying clothes, of course...)

Lots of people showed up, close to 18 in total, I believe.

Sure, I didn't know two of 'em, but they were still welcome.

M&S both came, and they seem to be working stuff out, which makes me feel *much* better.

Crystal was exposed to all of my YCDS friends at once, and was initiated by the telling of "The Secret."

Also explained was the meaning of The Pinky. ("Please, try to understand, I love you *very much* but...)

After the consumption of much MSG-laden Chinese goodness, people started splitting off and going home. Ultimately, Crys, me, Goofy, Amanda, Peikes, Avi, motti and Sharon ended up shpatzeering around the Upper West Side looking for things to do. This included a trip to a too-full pool-hall where I ran into my old friend Uri Cohen.

While at the pool hall, Amanda, Sharon and Crys headed off to the ladies room, travelling, as women do when engaging in such activities, in a pack. While she was gone, the guys proceded to surround me and tell me how much they approve, and like her and such. I was then told that I'd "better not mess things up, you moron."

After leaving the pool hall, we wandered around playing games like red rover (in the middle of 77th and B'way) and rattlesnake.

Eventually, after wandering around and singing bits from Moulin Rouge and RHPS, we ended up back in the heights, where sleep was the activity du jour (or activity du nuit, I suppose) I think she finally understands why I'm going to miss these guys so much.

In the morning, Crys and I had breakfast with Peikes before Crys took off, driving back to Boston in time to get home before the pending storm, which has thus far been nothing but a cold, slick rain.

It was a great weekend. Crys and I got to talk about a lot of things that really needed to be said. Relationshippy stuff that I'll spare you the details of, but trust me, it was a good thing.

Anyway, time for me to hit the hay, I've got my last exam tomorrow afternoon, and want to go out swinging.

My last exam is in just over an hour...

It all comes down to this, eh?
weird.
