Here be a photo pf my brother and his fiancee

A few years ago, the brother of a classmate of mine started Onlysimchas.com, and it's turned into a booming business for him. This, I think, is fantastic.

It's most of the users I can't stand.

See, when someone knows of an event, they post an announcement of it, whether they know the details of it, or are involved with it or not.

So, if a friend of yours gets engaged, but you don't know the name of his/her fiance, yuou just write "engagement of (friends name here) to ??????"

Reeeeeal classy, if you don't know someone well enough to know the name of their intended, don't make the announcement, capisce?

I! Know! They're! Excited! But! Names! Don't! End! In! Exclamation! Points!!

and when you're writing a note to someone's post, please try to be original.

Then there's all the sociological implications involved. See, if you don't drop a note on someone's page, but they know you've seen it, they might get bent out of shape. If they don't, someone will on their behalf.

Witness how my sister wrote something, then the mother of a friend of my youngest brother yelled at him about "how wrong it is that your little sister wrote a very nice note, and you didn't even bother..."

argh, and bite me.

Silly question, but what does "simchas" actually mean? I'm assuming it means something like "good news," but I've only ever heard it in context of "Simchas Torah," the holiday...

Also, the comment you're arghing about appears to have been deleted, if that makes you feel any better. :)
