Holmes Review 3- A Scandal in Bohemia

The short, short version- We meet The Woman, Irene Adler, in her only appearance in canon.

In a nutshell, it's a classic blackmail story. I *do* like that Adler isn't just a damsel in distress, and is able to match wits with Holmes and Watson.

The king's a bit of a goof.

Next up, The Red-Headed League. I'm going to try writing the review closer to my finishing of the story. I think they'll be longer as a result.

Irene Adler really only appears once??? Wow.

I read a whole pile of Sherlock Holmes when I was in high school and my memory of the details is hazy to non-existent. I guess non-cannon Sherlock had convinced my memory that she was a recurring character.

Yeah, just the one. Moriarty is only in one, too. He gets mentioned a bunch after the fact, though.
