work musings

When I answer the phone at work, I need to identify us by location.

"Good morning, American Legion, may I help you?"

But once in a very long while, I'm tired, which has had some funny results.

"Good morning, American Legion of Superheroes... Dammit!"

what really gets me is when I answer the phone at home, and need to stop and think before simply saying "hello."

I remember back when i was working two jobs: the Mail order catalog and the Theatre job. the Mail ordering job wasn't a problem, it went "Thank you for calling (quick glance at caller ID) Yoga Zone/CWD/FAO Schwarz/L'Art De Vivre, howmayihelpyou?" the problem was when i'd go to my second job at Mill Mountain Theatre and answer it "ThankyouforcallingFAOSchwarzHowmayihelpyou?" or manage to halt that about "thankyouforcalling Mill Mountain Theatre!"
but i do remebmer answering the college dorm phone with "Deming Fine Arts Theatre. how may i help you" and finding a quick hangup in my ear.
